Biotin Prices 2025, Size, Trend, Graph, News and Forecast

North America

In Q4 2024, Biotin prices in the U.S. remained relatively stable despite various economic and logistical pressures. In October, prices held steady amid improved consumer sentiment and easing inflation, although these macroeconomic shifts had minimal direct impact on Biotin. The market maintained a balance between steady demand and a recent rise in imports. Concerns over potential disruptions from port labor disputes and geopolitical tensions in the Red Sea did not significantly influence pricing.

In November, prices edged upward, driven by a modest increase in demand from end-user industries. Temporary port disruptions on the East Coast due to labor strikes led to minor delays in distribution, tightening supply slightly and sparking limited buyer competition. However, seasonal pricing trends helped keep the market generally stable.

By December, Biotin prices dipped slightly as demand softened, influenced by persistent inflation and high interest rates. A stronger U.S. dollar made imports more affordable, contributing to a stable supply. The resolution of logistics challenges, including the ILA strike, reduced shipping costs and helped U.S. importers secure product more efficiently, easing supply pressures and supporting the slight price decline.

In Q4 2024, Biotin prices in China saw notable volatility, shaped by both domestic and international dynamics. Early in the quarter, prices spiked due to strong domestic demand linked to pre-Golden Week stockpiling and lower output during the holiday period. Global supply chain constraints, including Red Sea tensions and U.S. port strikes, further tightened supply, pushing prices higher.

In November, another price increase followed a rebound in China’s manufacturing sector, bolstered by government stimulus and a weaker yuan that enhanced export competitiveness. However, by December, waning domestic demand—particularly from pharmaceutical and nutraceutical sectors—led to oversupply as distributor inventories remained high. Weak overseas demand, especially from the U.S. and Europe, added downward pressure.

Falling crude oil prices also helped lower production costs, prompting manufacturers to adjust pricing to remain competitive. As a result, prices declined by the end of the quarter. Overall, Q4 began with strong upward momentum but ended with a decline driven by oversupply and softer demand.

Europe

Biotin prices in Germany during Q4 2024 were marked by sharp fluctuations due to shifting economic and logistical conditions. In October, prices rose, fueled by improved consumer sentiment, lower inflation, and anticipation of ECB interest rate cuts. Pre-Golden Week stockpiling and disruptions in Red Sea shipping lanes also contributed to increased demand.

Prices continued climbing in November amid growing optimism around economic recovery. Anticipating a holiday season slowdown, suppliers stockpiled inventory, further driving prices up. Logistical challenges, including delays at Hamburg's ports and extended transit around the Cape of Good Hope, added to the pressure.

By December, prices began to ease as demand from the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical sectors weakened. A 1.9% decline in energy costs helped reduce operational expenses, enabling suppliers to adjust prices downward. Well-stocked inventories supported market stability as the quarter closed. Overall, Q4 concluded with a more balanced market amid tempered economic expectations.
